UPDATE: Carey Mulligan Reveals Daughter’s Name

Update:?Actress Carey Mulligan has revealed her daughter’s name and it’s a classic choice. Baby Evelyn was born to the Suffragette actress and musician Marcus Mumford a few weeks ago but it is only now that Carey has revealed her first child’s gender and name, Page Six reports from Suffragette‘s’red carpet?New York premiere. Have to say, we think all babies and their names are cute, but Evelyn is up there with monikers we love. We wonder if Evelyn and Keira Knightley’s daughter Edie will be playmates?

Published 8/10/2015: Carey Mulligan and her husband, the musician Marcus Mumford, have welcomed their first child! The exact date of the baby’s arrival is not yet known, some outlets are saying it was mere weeks ago, but Carey is already making our jaws drop because the 30-year-old actress is still doing press for her new movie Suffragette. She made an appearance at the movie’s red carpet premiere Wednesday night, alongside the starry cast, which includes Meryl Streep and Helena Bonham Carter. The premiere was apparently Carey’s second as a new mum, she was at the launch of the 59th BFI London Film Festival that morning, and she wore a dusky purple dress by Chanel on the red carpet . As we said, jaws are dropped.

The red carpet became suitably politicised when a demonstration against cuts to domestic violence support was held. Activists from Sisters Uncut lay on the ground and chanted ?Dead Women Can’t Vote? in order to bring their important message to the gathering public.

In baby news, Us Weekly reports that the new family are doing well, with a source saying, ?The baby is healthy. They have been loving being parents and their friends and family are thrilled.? The baby’s gender and name have not been revealed, and considering Carey and Marcus are a couple who tend to keep out of the spotlight, expect a few months of radio silence.

The couple has been married since 2012 and have one of celebrity’s most charming love stories. As children, they were pen pals and reunited in 2011 at Mumford & Sons gig in Nashville. Carey was there with her friend Jake Gyllenhaal and everyone hung out together after. Five months later, it was what you call a whirlwind courtship, Carey and Marcus were married. Although Carey’s pregnancy was evident in photos earlier this year, the actress chose to never confirm the fact, but did allude to becoming a mother in interviews.
