There’s just something so romantic about a deep, luscious-looking berry lip. Paired with translucent skin, glowing cheeks and light eyes, it’s a beauty look reminiscent of an old master oil painting.
Translucent Skin
Perfect skin can be a challenge to achieve, especially when you need a moderate level of coverage that will last all day (and night), yet will look imperceptible. Fret not, foundations have raised their game of late and the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation, €100, ticks all the boxes.
Light Eyes
A soft wash of a light, oyster-toned sheen over the eyelid is all that is needed for this look. No shading, no liner, just a coat or two of mascara to open the eyes. Let the focus?fall on the lips. MAC Lustre shadow in Era is spot on, €17.
Berry Lips?
Yes, it’s a strong colour but it’s so striking and beautiful – brides, be brave! Tom Ford is the king of special occasion lipstick. The texture is silky, premium, long-lasting and never drying. If you want to go dark and stormy, do for Black Dahila, or for a slightly lighter affair but just as impactful, try Velvet Cherry, €49.
Glowing Cheeks
Barely there but glowing is the mantra. Lightly dust a soft peach blush on to the apples of the cheeks (resist?the urge to contour) to keep the look?feeling fresh and a juxtaposition of both modern and classic. Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Sable, €38.50, is perfect.
