Alan Rickman Dies Aged 69

Beloved English actor has died aged 69 in London, his family announced today. He had been suffering from cancer.

Rickman spent the past few decades building an impeccable resum? across film and theatre, winning audiences over in varied roles such as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter franchise, Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility and the villain?Hans Gruber in Die Hard. On stage he won acclaim in a series of RSC productions and wowed the theatre world when he portrayed the leading role in Christopher Hampton’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses.?

He married his long-term partner Rima Horton in 2012. They knew each other as teenagers and have been together since 1965.
