THEY MET
We met during COVID, in 2020, when it was a strange time for the world. We had unconventional first dates like beach and botanical garden walks, cooking and cocktail-making classes, which really brought us together.

THE PROPOSAL
Josh surprised me with a trip to Ibiza, a place close to my heart. Under the stars in Dalt Vila, the historic fortress, he professed his love. A year later, he made it official with a heartfelt proposal, in the same spot, sealing our future together.

THE WEDDING ATTIRE

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was in the gorgeous Lavery Room, part of the Georgian rooms in No. 5 at the National Gallery. It was an intimate affair with 20 close friends and family, coming together to celebrate our love and the future we were about to build.

On the morning of the wedding, a freak snowfall transformed Dublin into a winter wonderland, but nothing could dampen our spirits. Undeterred, Josh turned the moment into an adventure, entertaining our guests with a lively game of axe throwing. Meanwhile, I indulged in a morning of pampering at The Shelbourne, a quiet moment of reflection and excitement before stepping into the next chapter of our lives.

Our celebrant guided us through the vows we had carefully chosen – words that truly reflected our love and commitment. As part of the ceremony, each person in attendance wrote us a message for our future together, to be sealed away in a wooden box (with a special bottle of wine!) and only to be opened on our fifth wedding anniversary. We’re looking forward to reading those!

THE RECEPTION
Afterwards, we had a small reception and dinner in the beautiful Clarke and Purser Rooms, also part of the Georgian rooms. Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we celebrated in a warm and meaningful way. The food was superb, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and pure joy.

Since Josh is originally from the UK, he wanted to help everyone connect. He created an absolutely brilliant booklet featuring a photo and a short bio of each guest. It was a thoughtful touch that sparked conversations, brought people together, and made everyone feel like part of something special.

Situated just across the road from the Gallery, we continued the celebrations at the cosy and historical Kennedy’s Pub. The basement Station bar was perfect for celebrating with the rest of our family and friends, as we danced and laughed the night away!

THE ENTERTAINMENT
DJ Darragh and Daddy Sax – highly recommended!

THEIR TOP TIPS
