Here are four under-the-radar denim labels we love.
B Sides: For women in search of future classics

This Brooklyn-based brand’s USP is the quality of its material, which has the weight and texture of antique denim. Friends and founders Claire Lampert and Stacy Daily describe their jeans as “discreet classics with character”. I love the texture of the black jeans in the image above. They have depth but an interesting grain too.
Nudie Jeans: For women conscious of their carbon footprint

From Sweden, this 100 per cent organic denim brand offers unisex designs in dry, salvaged and washed varieties. More than that, it provides a free repair service. Its ethos is “repair, reuse and reduce”. I was in its store on Redchurch Street in London last year, and it’s an absolute Mecca for denim lovers.
Waven: For women who want a point of difference
A London label with a Scandinavian aesthetic, Waven is not trend-led but instead offers understated yet directional pieces. Its denim tops and dresses are especially strong. They offer something pretty but utilitarian also.
Stoned Immaculate: For women whose hearts are in the 1970s
Made from salvaged denim in Los Angeles, this label focuses on achieving the perfect fit and embraces all things 1970s-inspired. Bell bottoms and high-waists are its signature. The subtle stitched detailing on the above jeans add a really nice retro effect.
