The Solution To Transitional Dressing? White Trainers

Before I discovered the virtues of white trainers, denim used to be my answer to the conundrum of transitional dressing. But?I wear jeans less often these days, preferring the fluidity, comfort and ease of culottes and wide-leg trousers. In the past, this would have presented me with a footwear issue on a beautiful warm, sunny, early spring day like today – black boots look?too heavy and bulky, but open-toe shoes feel much too premature. The solution? White trainers of course. They offer an instant refresh to’smart trousers, imbuing them with a kind of casual cool that suggests a less uptight, more relaxed vibe perfect for spring/summer. Here are some of the best white trainers available now.

These embroidered trainers from online retailer Uterque offer a punch of added personality in the form of the floral detailing.

For those of you who prefer absolute minimalism, these Cos trainers are stunning in their simplicity.

I love the texture that the crinkled leather brings to these Balenciaga trainers, plus the warm shade of vanilla, which offers a suit point of difference.

Again, these Zara trainers?offer added?texture with their?woven sole. The raffia detailing brings a nicely nautical vibe also.

I’m a big fan of velcro straps on trainers – laces can be a bit fussy – so these & Other Stories really appeal.
