New York Fashion Week?– one of the pinnacle moments on the fashion calendar -?got underway this week. The week’s events kicked off with dynamite designer Tom Ford, who knows exactly how to make an entrance; especially when you have Gigi and Kendall on your team. The seasoned pro transformed Park Avenue Armory into a fitting locale for his glamorous, sharp, and sexy Spring 2018 collection.

Then there was the Brock Collections form-fitting, cherry-exploding, laced assemblage. It was raw and romantic, but “not too precious” as creative director Kris Brock?put it backstage after his show.

We’ve only just stocked our sundresses away to the back of the wardrobe, but we’re already excited and eager to see what Spring/Summer 2018 will have to offer.

Behind The Scenes with Tom Ford

Key beauty trend: Striking liner, natural dewy skin, natural lip, blush

Hair: Pixie-cut style, off the face, natural approach with some product

Key Looks: Bold shoulders, bare legs, sheen, metallics, and sequence.

The 90s are well and truly back. Ford is letting the clothes do all the talking this season with a modest hat-tip to the by-gone noughties era with strong shoulders, oversized and form-fitting silhouettes, and metallics – plenty of them.

Behind The Scenes with Brock Collection

Key beauty trend:?Healthy, glowing skin, berry eyes

Hair: Natural, side-sweep with modern under-curl

Key Looks:?Romantic lace, springtime prints,

The show commenced with a striking cherry-printed lace dress with flat gladiator sandals, followed by similarly?patterned frocks of varying lengths: some with puff sleeves, some with two-toned patterns and colours, and others with a more classic approach. The Brock Collections woman is strong and feminine: a combination synonymous with the modern woman.
