Street style looks I’m basing my spring wardrobe around

Street style looks I’m basing my spring wardrobe around

In fashion we work in advance and so I’m always thinking about three months ahead. Although there’s musings of snow right now, my head is very firmly fixed on April and what my spring wardrobe will look like. My silhouettes pretty much stay the same regardless of the season, as does my colour palette except that I desaturate the shades I choose in summer without veering into pastel territory. I always like tailoring and rarely wear floaty frocks (although I have my eye on one spectacular floral, floaty dress in the sales, which I’m hoping will be reduced significantly more than its current price tag of €500), so clean lines and contemporary cuts are what I’m searching for, but in spring-friendly guises.

Yasmin Sewell (below) is channeling all my mid-season wardrobe wishes in these contemporary separates. The rich burgundy shade of the skirt is softened by the blush pink jacket, while a white tee and flash of bare leg add freshness to the whole ensemble.

A well-fitted dress in a statement shade; this is my kind of summer dress. I love how the stiff collar suggests an almost formal vibe, while the pretty shade of teal screams fun and feminine.

This street style star has styled her white trousers beautifully. The twisted-finish, asymmetric top with over-long sleeves looks utterly modern with her cropped flares. I want both please.

Bold, graphic and beautifully feminine with its hourglass silhouette, this navy blue dress is just what I want as the seasons slowly change. It will work equally well with boots on colder days as it does with these white kitten heels.

Before it becomes too warm to continue wearing leather trousers, I’ll be pairing mine with a plain T-shirt (although not white as Sarah Harris has; the colour does me no favours) and flat brogues or loafers. A textured knit is the perfect throw-on for this outfit.
