Is nepotism is the latest trend?

This weekend saw Kendall Jenner briefly steal sister Kim’s limelight after the Kardashian Queen Bee tried to break the internet with her derriere on the cover of Paper magazine. Yesterday Kendall was announced as the new face of Estee Lauder, landing the illustrious contract after two busy fashion seasons that saw her walking for Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. Talk about glowing credentials. Part of Kendall’s contract includes ?curating? Lauder’s social media, which ought to be a pretty interesting campaign. The 19-year-old model has nearly sixteen million followers on Instagram and is quite the professional at garnering immediate likes. Kendall’s career is now firmly entrenched, however people still accuse her of coasting on her sister’s massive fame. It was these sort of feelings that saw Kendall bullied backstage at various shows during fashion month. Some industry insiders see her achievements down to her family connections, not talent and hard work.

Leaving aside the politics of nepotism, it seems that famous siblings are in vogue this season, with Suki Waterhouse’s sister about to arrive on the scene. While frequent Burberry model Suki is making more moves towards Hollywood – she’s just after starring in the Lily Collins romantic comedy?Love, Rosie – it seems younger sister Immy will be the newest face we’ll have to familiarize ourselves with. And no, we don’t know which baby names book their parents consulted.

As well as mutual careers, the Waterhouse sisters will share the same agency, Next Model Management.?Speaking about her career to Vogue, Immy admitted that her big sister has been a major influence in her career decisions.?”Suki has shown me that hard work pays off and rejection is a big part of it,” she said, referencing their shared height ‘problems’. Both sisters are much shorter than the typical catwalker, however this hasn’t stopped Suki from becoming one of Christopher Bailey’s favourite models.

Also, considering Immy is also a fan of distinctive heavy brows, we can see her finding her fashion place with ease. Immy is already fitting into the eclectic vibe that today’s English models work in spades,?telling?Vogue her dream campaign would be ?Chelsea FC – I’m a stickler for football!?

We look at some of the most famous sister acts in the fashion industry today.

Kendall and Kim (and Kris, Kylie, Khloe and Kourtney)

Kendall and Lauder announced their colloboration with a video that edited Kendall’s day-to-day life as one of the world’s top models with a cute home video of her putting on make up as a toddler and talking to her mother Kris. It is embeddable cuteness.

Kim meanwhile has been nothing but supportive to Kendall. At Paris Fashion Week a few months ago, Kim showed up at the Givenchy show with baby North and husband Kanye to watch her sister stun the world. Mom in chief Kris was also agog as her daughter proved the naysayers wrong with her triumphant fashion week appearances.

However, our favourite sister champion has so be Khloe. Her Instagram is basically a family newsletter shouting joy and encourgement on a daily basis.

The Delevingnes

Before there was Cara and tattoos of the word ?bacon? on the soles of models? feet, there was Poppy Delevingne. Poppy is a world famous model and paved the way for her little sister and Instagram icon, Cara.

Poppy is open about she feels responsible for Cara in interviews, telling the?Evening Standard ?We’re so different yet so similar. We’re on the same sort of rollercoaster, we get to share this mad world together, although hers is obviously on a different level and I am there to catch her.? Warm fuzzy feels all round.

Lottie and Kate Moss

Lottie Moss? modeling career was basically guaranteed from the moment she was spotted in her sister’s wedding album. Life tip: Having Kate Moss as a sibling never hurts. The 16-year-old has editorials in?Teen Vogue and?Dazed & Confused on her CV already, as well as a recent Valentino campaign. Lottie has also starred in a Calvin Klein campaign, like her sister famously did in the nineties. So far Lottie hasn’t lit the world alight in the way her sister did, but according to the Daily Mail she’s taken a page from the book of Kate – maintain that private life and don’t give too much away.
