Is the?classic Breton stripe too obvious for you? Then take inspiration from the Paris Fashion Week street-style set who know how to turn a traditional stripe on its?head, while still keeping their look?chic.

Plain black accents dilute down the impact of head-to-toe stripes. The vertical stripes (and heels) lengthen this trend-setter’s’silhouette, while the drawstring tie at the waist and turned up hem of the trousers make the whole look feel casual and laid-back.

A non-traditional silhouette will add interest to classic navy and white stripes.

Use texture to add a point of difference to your look. A faux-fur striped coat feels modern and fresh.

A classic item such as a trench coat is given a new lease of life when reimagined in a striped print.

Mix stripes with an unexpected pattern’such as leopard-print for a unique look that has plenty of personality.

Go crazy with colour. There’s nothing obvious about this striped coat.

Add graphic appeal to your stripes with different shaped and sized lines.

Simple can still be interesting. This jacket mixes’diagonal and vertical stripes, while the top mixes traditional navy stripes with a repeated motif. Layered together, it makes a strong impact.

The vertical slits in this dress are lined in red and so create the impression of stripes. Against the backdrop of black and white checks, it looks super stylish.

Keep it minimal. A striped trim in two colourways looks really stylish. Sometimes paring back a theme gives it more life.
