Dakota Johnson is no man’s woman. Her inability to be polite 24/7 allegedly annoyed Jamie Dornan on the set of Fifty Shades and her Oscars red carpet glare off with her mother, actress Melanie Griffith, was the finest performance of the night. She’s also literally no man’s woman, having split from her musician boyfriend, Matthew Hitt, a few weeks ago.

And now Dakota has decided to show off her agency by chopping off her long brunette locks for a carefree and practical bob. The film role of Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey catapulted her to the limelight, but it seems Dakota is keen to move on, at least until the sequel starts shooting. Fifty Shades Darker is still casting some characters, with rumours circulating in Cara Delevingne’s direction that the young model may play Christian Grey’s troubled ex, Leila.
We have to say we like this new style from Miss Johnson. Also those sunglasses and that masculine jacket are so unapproachable. Dramatic cuts after finishing film a role are nothing new in Hollywood. Jennifer Lawrence famously chopped off her hair after filming a Hunger Games movie, where her character Katniss Everdeen was as famous for her long braid as she was her archery skill.

How is Miss Johnson managing her bob so far? Well from the look of these photos she’s already run into the difficulties of tying back bob strands. We feel you Dakota. Itchy necks in the sun are no fun.
