The five step guide to lived-in, wavy hair

In the July/August issue of IMAGE, celebrity hairstylist (to Kardashians, Jenners, Hadid’s and more) and Ballinteer-born Andrew Fitzsimons shared his must-haves and pro tips with us. He told us about working with Kylie on Kylie Cosmetics, being obsessed with Japanese skincare and Adele’s hair – which apparently, is very thick.

He’s just shot his first Calvin Klein campaign with the Kardashian Jenner family, alongside Mario Dedivanovic and Jen Atkins – “it was so much fun to have all the Kardashian/Jenner girls together on set along with all of their glam teams, who are some of my besties,” he said, “Khloe was pregnant and Kylie had just given birth to baby Stormi so everyone was in such great form.”

“For Kylie and Kourtney’s look, I went for a very ‘lived in’ wavy vibe,” he said, “and the campaign-style was boho and natural and I needed to emulate that inspiration whilst styling both girls hair.”

Here’s Andrew’s five-step guide for loose wavy beach hair.

Caviar Anti-Ageing Thick & Full Volume Mousse by Alterna, €22

“First, I used a tiny bit of Thick & Full Volume Mousse by Alterna, €22 and blow-dried the hair.”

ghd curve classic wave wand, €149

“Next, I used a 1.5 plate GHD curling iron, €149, to create some natural loose waves.”

“I sectioned off the hair into pieces and waved random sections of the hair concentrating on the middle and avoiding the roots and the ends.”
