Emmys 2019: All the best beauty looks

We’re feeling inspired after last night’s Emmy Awards. There were some seriously amazing beauty looks, here are our favourites from the night…

As much as I love an awards ceremony to see what everyone is wearing, the beauty looks are what I’m really interested in. While others are quickly flicking through pictures to compare dresses I’m zooming in as close as possible to try and guess what lip shade they’re wearing.

This years Emmy’s did not disappoint. There was everything from your classic Hollywood red lip to 80s glitter.

At the Oscars, attendees tend to play it safe on the beauty front, as if you win the pictures from the night will haunt you forever (so not the time to experiment with coloured eyeshadow). Awards like The Emmys are often a little more creative and daring, as nominees get more creative with their looks.

Here’s some of the best from last night.

Eris Baker

Fourteen-year-old Eris Baker dazzled with lots and lots of shimmer. Layered over purple eyeshadow, chunky glitter fanned from the eyes, to tops of cheekbones, up to the temples.

The shape was 80s but the whole look felt fresh, modern and most of all fun.

Rachel Brosnahan

We love this matchy-matchy colour-scheme on Rachel Brosnahan. A deep navy smokey eye that matches her dress is set off with silver at the inner corners, which perfectly goes with the sparkle in her ears.

A lesson in how to wear a smokey eye that isn’t your classic black or grey.

Viola Davis

We are quite enamoured with Davis’ choice of glossy plum on her lips and are looking to add one to our own make-up stash ASAP.

As a L’Oreal brand ambassador, Viola wore all L’Oreal on the night, we especially love how extra she went with the lashes.

Emilia Clarke

Clarke’s look was perfection from head to toe. Her dress was sexy yet sleek, with hair and make-up to match it perfectly.

Hair was slicked back away from her face showing off her enviable bone structure. Skin was fresh but flawless, with a glossy nude lip and simple cat eye.

Zendaya

We can’t even look at our phones today without seeing pictures of Zednaya in that dress. Make-up was kept simple here as the dress was doing all the talking.

Everything was flawless, glowing skin, subtle contour, glossy lips and perfectly groomed brows. And do we even need to mention how perfect her hair colour is?

Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie looked positively regal at the awards last night, and her make-up certainly helped.

Her hair was long and flowing, which complemented her dress perfectly and make-up was all about that royal red lip.

Naomi Watts

Watts served up some old-school Hollywood glamour last night with a black ballgown and red lip combo.

Her look was kept modern with a bright blonde asymmetrical bob, this is a picture we are definitely bringing to our next trip to the hairdressers.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore’s pink and red dress was an IMAGE favourite this morning, and we are also loving her beauty look.

Hair was big and bouncy with voluminous, Jessica Rabbit style waves. We also loved the bright pop of pink blush, making the whole look a rosy dream.

Annie Murphy

We are always excited to see what looks Jo Baker will create anytime there is an awards ceremony. Last night she made up Annie Murphy exclusively using Armani.

Her freckles were the star of the show, complemented with a sheer wash of blush and lots of highlighter. Skin looked dewy and luminescent and was off-set with a dark plum lip.

Jameela Jamil

We would never think of wearing this shade of coral with a pale blue dress, but it works perfectly.

Jamil apparently did her make-up herself for last nights awards, and it only took her five minutes.

Be right back, we’re off to try this look for ourselves…
