This cosy cottage escape with a secluded garden is on the market for €150,000

Surrounded by nature but with plenty of amenities nearby, this traditional property in Tipperary speaks to a simpler, more relaxed way of life.

A handsome stone-front property with red trimmings, Churchfield Cottage is quaint yet cosy. Lovingly restored by its current owner, the property sits on 0.20 acres of land and also features a small steel shed and hidden garden to the back.

The front door opens onto a tiled hallway/living room/kitchen. Traditional stonework lines one wall which melds into a large fireplace. A solid fuel stove – used to heat the radiators – sits at its hearth. Triple glazed PVC windows have also been fitted throughout the cottage to help retain heat.

The kitchen is a small nook to the back of the room, with a Belfast sink and brightly painted presses. An unusual mosaic feature borders the one small window.

The family bathroom and one of the two bedrooms can be found on this level. The same stonework continues in both rooms – making for striking statement features in each. Tiles line both the floor and the wall in the bathroom, which also has wooden shelving and a curtained cubby hole for storage.

Meanwhile, wooden flooring has been fitted in the bedroom, which is bright and light-filled courtesy of a large window near the door.

Stone stairs lead the way to the upstairs landing. This area is currently being used as a home office/study area, however, there is potential to convert it into another bedroom should you so please.

Outside, the property boasts spectacular views of the nearby Galtee Mountains. A steel shed can be found to the rear of the property, with the potential to extend (subject to planning permission). A row of manicured hedges conceals the rest of the garden which houses various types of different trees as well as a small, circular pond.

Located just 1.5km from Clerihan village, Churchfield Cottage is only within a short distance of Clonmel (10.5km), Cahir (13km) and Cashel (16.5km).
