Love Island, 9pm, Virgin Media Two

Love Island returns to our telly boxes tonight with host Maya Jama welcoming a whole new group of singletons to the villa for a summer of fun and probably a few fights too… it would be Love Island without some drama, now would it?

The Idol, Sky Atlantic 

Co-created by Sam Levinson (the man behind Euphoria), Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, The Idol stars The Weeknd alongside Lily-Rose Depp and follows the story of Jocelyn, a rising pop star, who faces the challenges of fame as she navigates a relationship with club owner Tedros.

Saint X, Disney+

Produced by Drake and based on a novel of the same name, Saint X is told via multiple timelines and explores how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

Never Have I Ever Season 4, Netflix

Devi and her friends return for season four of the hit teen series created by Mindy Kaling (of The US Office fame). A quick watch of the trailer tells us that a few major milestones have been reached by our heroine and her besties – you know, like college interviews, prom limo rides, graduation and actually having sex. The Whale, Amazon Prime Video  

Streaming on Amazon Prime Video as of last week, The Whale stars Brendan Frasher as a reclusive, morbidly obese English teacher attempting to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter. Fraser’s first film in over six years, his performance garnered him an Oscar win – meaning he beat Bill Nighy, Austin Butler, Colin Farell and Paul Mescal to the punch. A fantastic comeback for Fraser.

The Crowded Room, Apple TV+

The Crowded Room follows Danny Sullivan (Tom Holland), a man who is arrested following his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. A captivating thriller told through a series of interviews with curious interrogator Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried), Danny’s life story unfolds, revealing elements of the mysterious past that shaped him, and the twists and turns that will lead him to a life-altering revelation.
