H&M Home’s new botanical print collection is divine

H&M Home’s new botanical print collection with the British Museum intertwines art with modern-day living in a way that is accessible and affordable

The beautiful collaboration, British Museum x H&M HOME, features the botanical prints of 18th-century artist, Mary Delany. Perfect for an autumn home update, the seven-piece collection taps into Mary’s famous ‘paper mosaics’ design, featuring vases, candles and cushion covers.

In keeping with the artists original prints and the Romanticism movement in the 1800s, each piece features flowers printed against a black background. Some pieces from the collection are featured below:

Floral-motif cushion cover, €14.99

“When we started looking into the catalogue of work at The British Museum, we were immediately drawn to Mary Delany’s stunning paper mosaics.

“Their black background reveals the delicate intensity of the flowers and the handicraft is incredible. Poetic and mysterious, Delany’s artwork is still relevant today and with this collaboration, look beautiful in any modern home,” explained Guillaume Vaillant, concept designer at H&M Home.

Flower-motif vase, €34.99

Boxed scented candle, €14.99

A ‘late-bloomer’, Mary, who lived in England and in Dublin in Ireland throughout her life (married to Irish cleric Patrick Delany), and first began painting floral collages at the age of 72. She invented a form of paper-cutting or decoupage, which she called her “paper mosaiks” and created 985 of these.

Porcelain plant pot, €12.99

Want to get your hands on the pieces? The limited edition collaboration is online now, but pieces are selling fast.
