Dublin Fringe Festival brings back live performance safely to the people of Dublin and marks the return of the long-awaited re-opening of beloved city theatres this September.
This year the festival has lovingly set the stage for artists to innovate for the times. The festival promises to ‘keep her lit’ by creating something inspiring with a brand-new festival format.
Fringe will find a way to reach theatre fans with shows across Dublin city, via the post or wherever a wi-fi connection exists. Considered one of Ireland’s most anticipated multidisciplinary arts festivals, Dublin Fringe hosts the country’s best makers, dreamers and inventors showcasing brand new ideas. The festival will run for 16 days and nights as usual this year, staging 107 performances of 23 events in 13 venues, including your own home and the great outdoors.
Masters of storytelling and spectacle Macnas will bring a dramatic new interpretation of the world’s oldest story, the legend of Gilgamesh, to Galway this year. Commissioned by Galway 2020 for the European Capital of Culture celebrations, the extraordinary adventures of Gilgamesh will start to unfold online at macnas.com from September.
Due to Covid-19 and HSE guidelines, the Boots Night Walk will take place on Monday September 7 and they are asking the nation to come out and walk 5K at a location and time that suits, allowing everyone the opportunity to walk in solidarity today, albeit at a distance, in aid of the wonderful service Night Nurses.
Night Nurses and the Irish Cancer Society offers free end of life care to cancer patients across Ireland allowing them to remain in their own homes, surrounded by family and friends during what can be a very difficult and anxious time.

Sligo Oyster Experience has recently launched a unique seafood experience offering an immersive guided tour and visit to Coney Island working oyster farm on the shores of Sligo bay, overlooked by the majestic Belbulben and Knocknarea.
The tour begins with a 15-minute Wild Atlantic Way coastal walk with tour guide and owner of Sligo Oyster Experience, Aisling Kelly Hunter. Along the way participants will learn ancient Sligo folklore and the history of Sligo’s native oysters, before arriving at the Coney Island Oyster Farm where they will experience oyster farming and the process of cultivation first hand. Aisling will also introduce the group to coastal foraging by showing them where edible sea vegetables grow along the coast, such as sea kale and samphire.
The Killarney Secret Trails package (€379.50 per person sharing) at Cahernane House Hotel allows guests the chance to explore some of the region’s most beautiful nature trails, alongside magnificent neighbours such as the 15th century Muckross Abbey and Muckross House.

We want to offer our guests the chance to explore some lesser-known, quieter beauty spots and will provide maps to some secret trails, such as The Blue Pool, Governor’s Rock, Reenadrina and Killegy Woods.
The Killarney Secret Trails package includes three-nights’ accommodation with breakfast each morning, welcome tea and scones on arrival, a three-course dinner on two evenings with a pre-dinner glass of prosecco. A picnic lunch is also included on two days for guests to enjoy while they explore some of Killarney’s lesser known secret trails.
