To kick start the new year, AVOCA is delighted to announce that they will be hosting a detox event, today Saturday, January 14th, at 10 am in Avoca Malahide.?The event will feature special guests Roz Purcell and Irish cricketer Max Sorensen. Roz will be on hand to discuss her new beauty body scrub ?Ripe by Roz? while Max will provide health and fitness tips for those looking to put their best foot forward this January. There will be delicious food tastings in Malahide’s food hall from the Happy Pear, Nua Naturals and Pukka Tea. This is a free event, and you can find more information here.

Overhead, The Albatross, Otherkin, Windings, Danny Battles and Brass Phantoms, will all perform at The Button Factory tonight as part of the First Fortnight festival; Ireland’s mental health arts festival. Door tax is €12 and the gig kicks off at 8 PM. More info here.

Next Thursday, January 19th, the Tivoli Theatre are hosting a gig for?DOWRY, with karaoke continuing afterwards and will be hosted by everyone’s favourite lounge lizard; Enda DaNite. Door tax is €5 and all proceeds will go towards funding Ban an T?; an exhibition to be held in the Chocolate Factory on the 2nd of February, exploring and questioning the idea of the domestic sphere as a female space.

This coming Wednesday, January 18th, The Sugar Club are hosting a special screening of 90’s cult classic ‘Trainspotting’ starring Ewan McGregor. Booking is essential for this, and screenings nearly always book out at the venue because of its cosy set-up, on-point sound system, gourmet popcorn, pizza, and pints. A concert will take place over two nights next week at?Sin ?to raise awareness and funds for the incredible work Home Sweet Home has been doing. Tickets priced at €15, with all proceeds will go towards the Home Sweet Home Campaign. Performers include The Hot Sprockets, Moon Looks On, and The Eskies to name a few.
