Screen One at the Savoy Cinema on Dublin’s O’Connell Street was full to capacity for the Irish premiere screening of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

The epic fantasy adventure was directed by acclaimed Guy Ritchie and stars Charlie Hunnam in the title role as Arthur with actors including Jude Law, Eric Bana and Aidan Gillen in supporting roles.

The film tells the story of? young Arthur whom after the murder of his father, his power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up in the back alleys of the city until fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, and Arthur finally embraces his true destiny.?

Guests on the red carpet included Allanah Beirne of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model who was accompanied by her mother Brenda, boxer Bernard Dunne and his son Finnian, Martin King and sons Matthew and Alex, singer Lyra, Cool Fm’s Rebecca McKinney and radio presenter Cormac Moore.
