Seven Treasures: Japanese Cloisonn? Enamels from the Victoria and Albert Museum, Chester Beatty Library

The Chester Beatty Library is hosting an exhibition of Japanese cloisonn? enamels on loan from the renowned Victoria and Albert Museum. These metal vessels have been decorated with enamel paste placed within enclosures made of fine wires that have been bent into the desired pattern. This exhibition contains the finest enamel examples you’re ever likely to see, so don’t miss out.

The Untold Want, Royal Hibernian Academy

This major group exhibition is curated by the Director of the Royal Hibernian Academy, Patrick T. Murphy, and Caroline Hancock. It includes acclaimed Irish artists such as Dorothy Cross and film-maker Vivienne Dick, and celebrated American artists Agnes Martin, Vija Celmins and sculptor Robert Gober, who have exhibited in the Guggenheim Museum, Centre Pompidou and MOMA respectively.

At Sixes and Sevens by Stoney Road Press – Exquisite Editions at the National Print Gallery

For the bookworms among you, check out the latest exhibition at the National Print Museum, curated by Jamie Murphy of The Savage Press. It showcases local and international contemporary fine press printers and the transformation of this art form in recent years. Including many different mediums of illustration such as wood engraving, woodcuts and linoleum, it’s not to be missed.
