Scarlett Johansson Starts Band With Este Haim

A lot of movie stars these days double job. Gywneth Paltrow and Blake Lively have their lifestyle sites, Goop and Preserve respectively. George Clooney owns a tequila company. Tom Selleck owns an avocado farm, apparently.

Scarlett Johansson is the latest star to look outside the Hollywood bubble for professional fulfillment, and has decided to work on her music career. The actress has showcased her pipes to acclaim before. In 2008 Johansson released an album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, which featured collaborations with Tom Waits and David Bowie. While the album’s reception was subdued, the fact that the 30-year-old had a capable voice couldn’t be denied. So the fact that Scarlett Johansson has recently launched a female ‘supergroup? isn’t as out-of-the-blue news as you’d think.

Drummer Este Haim, of sisterly folk coven Haim, has teamed up with the Avengers actress to help front The Singles, the name of said group. Who else is in The Singles? Holly Miranda, Julia Haltigan, and Kendra Morri.

Have a listen of debut single?Candy below. It’s very pop. What do you think?
