It might be time to get your dog or cat a social media account. New research has found that certain pets are earning as much as $30,000 per Instagram post

How would you like your dog or cat to start paying rent? Covering their own food costs, vet bills and squeaky toy habits. Some pets around the world are doing exactly that.

In the same way that Instagram-savvy people have created a ‘social media influencer’ industry – so too is there a petfluencer industry. Dogs and cats are being paid thousands of dollars, euros and yen to document their lives online, all the while promoting various products and brands.

Using a special earnings calculator from Influencer Marketing Hub, pets supplies shop OnBuy found the top-earning pets in the world right now. There’s a mix of cats and dogs in there (even a fox), and their level of earnings per Instagram post seems to correlate to how many followers they have.
