Did Robert Pattinson Skip Venice Film Festival To Avoid Ex?

Imagine if the details of your first major relationship?were a gothic script tattoo inked across your forehead and for some reason your hairdresser refused to give you a fringe? Welcome to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s shared yet separate existence. These former lovers, who met while shooting the Twilight franchise and dated on and off for four to five years, have seen a passage of time from their early adulthood indelibly associated with them. Yes, Kristen may have won an acting C’sar, the equivalent of a French oscar, and been the only American to have done so. Robert may be engaged to his girlfriend F.K.A Twigs. However, the path of a love long dead never did run smooth.

The latest chapter in this mostly media orchestrated drama is that Pattinson skipped the movie industry event that is the Venice Film Festival for fear of running into the ex who cheated on him with her co-worker. Pattinson’s movie? The Childhood of a Leader was showing at the festival, but the actor decided to opt out of red carpeting in favour of shooting a movie in Belfast,?The Lost City of Z. Kristen meanwhile was there to promote her dystopian romance Equals with Nicholas Hoult.

Robert’s absence and excuse seem pretty legitimate to us. He’s an actor, not a show pony, so if he wanted to work instead of dropping by the premiere, that’s fine. However, ‘sources’ are telling Page Six that this work ethic is a subterfuge for Pattinson’s desire to avoid drama.??He didn’t want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other,? says the source. ?Venice is very small? and there are only so many parties and hotels.?
