Christmas officially began last night at the Marker Hotel where almost one hundred guests gathered to enjoy a party-throwing masterclass, five-course meal plus lots of top festive tips from some of the best in the business.

Guests were greeted on the rooftop bar with a breathtaking view of the Dublin skyline along with mulled wine and spiced cider. Carolers serenaded as people snapped shots of themselves and the view and enjoyed some delicious aperitifs.?Allison Benton, found of Brooke & Shoals talked us through the key steps to scenting an event and gave all attendees a chance to try it themselves with a bumper kit of Brooke & Shoals candles for their own Christmas celebrations.

After that everyone headed down to the Brasserie where Ruth of Appassionata Flowers had decked out the room in seasonal flowers and Dusty Boy Design provided gorgeous notebook so everyone took jot down every drop of Christmas genius they picked up. Gareth Mullins, executive chef and Sandra Murphy, food and drinks expert at The Marker Hotel talked guests through the pairings of the first three courses that included a gin and tonic soaked smoked salmon and a champagne sorbet.

Following main course of melt-in-the-mouth beef wellington, Ruth from Appassionata held a fantastic demonstration to creating simple floral ideas for your home along with six very kind volunteers.

A golden Christmas pudding baked Alaska?inspired by our own fabulous Melanie Morris finished off a delightful evening. Guests mingled with their golden crowns courtesy of some super luxe Marks & Spencers Christmas crackers. All that was left was to pick up their horde of gift bags from Appassionata, Brooke & Shoals and The Marker Hotel for before heading home feeling festive, happy, full and brimming with seasonal ideas.
