The Pantone Colour of the Year has been announced. Here are seven fashion and interiors pieces to buy right now in the ‘it’ colour of 2020

Each year, the Pantone Colour of the Year becomes a major topic of the cultural conversation. It becomes the ruling for which various industry trends follow.

In fashion, the colours form part of the clothes we wear, while in interiors, its hue dots along our hallways and through our rooms.

This year, the colour du jour is Classic Blue.

The calming azure blue was chosen for good reason, according to Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the company’s Color Institute. Speaking to Architectural Digest, she said in the turbulent times we live in, some stability was needed.

“When we look at the world around us, we know that we’re living with a lot of unrest, where some days we don’t feel quite as secure…Blue, from an emotional, psychological standpoint, has always represented a certain amount of calm and dependability. It’s a colour that you can rely on.”

And as we herald in a new decade, this air of stability is needed.

Classic

As the name says, it’s classic. This is good news in both the interiors and fashion world because a classic never goes out of style. In a world where we are continually becoming more conscious of our purchasing habits, our purchases must hold some type of longevity.

Luckily, for the style fanatics of the world, Classic Blue looks good.
