Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown died yesterday after spending six months in a coma following the discovery of her unresponsive body in a bathtub in her Atlanta home at the end of January. The police report at the time described the incident as a ‘drowning?. She never regained consciousness.

Her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, had called the police and the family has since brought a lawsuit against him accusing him of taking money from Bobbi Kristina’s bank account in recent months. There are also accusations of his being violent towards the deceased.

Bobbi Kristina was moved from hospital to the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia in recent weeks, prompting press speculation that her condition had been worsening in recent months. CNN reports that she was surrounded by her family at the time of her death. A representative for the family said,??She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina’s life had been marred in tragedy during her final years. Her parents divorce was bitter and highly publicised, with Bobby airing the family’s private life on reality television shows. Her mother Whitney Houston passed away three years ago just before the Grammy Awards in 2012. In eerily similar circumstances, Houston was found face down in her bath with the official cause of death deemed accidental drowning.
