Blake Lively’s Choice of Godmothers Is So Sweet

Blake Lively may have kept us guessing for an age about the name of her daughter – it’s James – but when it comes to the godmothers for her baby, the secret is out. And it is as sweet as heck.

Remember The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants movie series that first brought Lively to the world’s attention? Four gal pals find a pair of thrift store jeans that magically fit them all, and they use the jeans as a means of keeping in touch over hormonal late-teen summers? The greatest tale of female friendship this side of Beaches? Well, life has imitated art and Blake has appointed her three co-stars in the two films as her daughter’s godmothers.

Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn all share godmothering duties to baby James. Tamblyn shared the news on a chat show this week after being asked to confirm the news. ?Yes that is a fact,? she said. Cue our hearts speeding up with the adorableness of it all.

Rumours have been circulating for months now that a third Sisterhood movie is in the works, but so far nothing has been confirmed. We like to think that Blake’s appointment of her co-workers-turned-close-friends may send studio executives a clear message to put these four women back on the same screen together. Baby James will have plenty of willing babysitters on set and could even make a cameo.

However, the sweetest thing about this news story is that by choosing her co-stars to be such an intricate part of her life, Blake has secured a lifelong relationship with three incredible women she came of age with.

We think a The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants – 1 and 2 – marathon is in order. Trailer binge below.
