Looking to do some renovations while housebound? Well, revamping your home doesn’t always have to include buying new stuff.
It’s time to get out those tins of leftover paint, old fabric swatches and your trusty sander. Upcycling and upholstering furniture is easier than it seems – all it takes is time, focus and creativity.
Interior Instagrammers are always working on a new project, whether it’s updating on overmantle with a fresh coat of paint, removing plaster to expose a redbrick fireplace wall or punch needling trendy cushion covers.

Catherine is currently renovating her 200-year-old townhouse and her creativity is incredible. She recently upcycled a built-in corner cabinet by adding a glass door and a fresh coat of white paint. Now, you can see her beautifully displayed pieces.
A colour guru, Debbie’s feed is flooded with golden apricot chairs, key blue sideboards and olive green wicker. She recently updated her old overmantle with a coat of classic black paint and gold gilding – stay tuned for the finished results.
Author of Furniture Crush, Joanne makes upcycling easy for beginners. In her latest project, she bravely took on organising her pantry, adding wall shelves, white, wicker baskets and colour-coded wheelie boxes.
