This fundraiser honours the lives and legacies of those we’ve lost
To mark 20 years of RIP.ie’s role in Irish life, the platform is inviting their community to take part in a meaningful nationwide event this March.
Uniting compassionate communities and giving them a space to share their condolences and grief in the aftermath of loss, RIP.ie marks their 20th year with a milestone nationwide event. Taking place throughout March, RIP Remembers is a virtual walking challenge that invites you to walk 20km in memory of a loved one no longer with us while raising funds for a charity of your choice.
A walk, whether it be a leisurely stroll in the countryside or a brisk zip through the city, clears the head and gives you pause to really think, and it’s in those moments that memories of loved ones so often rise to the surface. This event gives you reason to dedicate that time to thinking about those who have passed away and spend that time with their memory.

This shared journey offers an opportunity to honour loved ones, support local charities, and celebrate the strength of community. By turning remembrance into a real-world experience, shared grief becomes shared purpose, fostering healing and unity. For every charity registrant, a square foot of native woodland will be planted, creating a living legacy of remembrance.
It’s not about distance, it’s about taking time to honour someone special. You can complete your 20km little by little throughout the month, or complete it all at once. You can do it alone or in groups, outdoors or on a treadmill, and you can track your progress on your phone, smartwatch, or fitness app.
