On Friday, November 7, Volvo hosted a very special Scandinavian-inspired evening at Dublin’s prestigious RHA Gallery to mark a significant milestone: the 25th anniversary of Volvo’s pioneering Car Safety Centre. The celebration paid tribute to Volvo’s enduring commitment to innovation and safety, values that remain firmly at the heart of everything the brand does.
Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening that combined great food and conversation in true Nordic style. A highlight of the night was an engaging fireside chat between horse-racing legend and Volvo ambassador Rachael Blackmore and fellow ambassador, architect and TV personality Dermot Bannon. The pair discussed life, passion and the shared importance of safety, both on the road and in their respective fields.

Adding to the occasion was award-winning chef and Volvo ambassador Mark Moriarty, who curated a bespoke three-course Scandinavian-inspired menu. The culinary journey began with a delicately cured trout gravad lax served with barbecued butter and crispy potato, followed by Irish sika deer cooked over spruce and peppercorn. Dessert was a finale of rich chocolate paired with grapefruit, sea buckthorn and honeycomb.
The evening was a resounding success from start to finish, and among the stylish crowd were actor and author Amy Huberman, media entrepreneur Debbie O’Donnell, fashion designer Helen Steele, and fashion stylist Corina Gaffey, along with many other familiar faces from Ireland’s creative and cultural circles.
