Happy first of June!
It was an extremely lovely, busy May, where over one thousand of you joined us at the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards to celebrate our female business peers across a wide arc of industries, the IMAGE Business Club took a road trip to Cork, IMAGE took over the WellTalk stage at WellFest and the Wellness Project took a hike around Glendalough with Nadia El Ferdaoussi.
If reading that is giving you FOMO, The IMAGE Wellness Project’s biggest event yet is on Saturday June 8 in Anatara The Marker. It’s a jam-packed wellness event, where Editorial Director Dominique McMullan is hosting an incredible line-up including Adrienne Murphy and John Belton, Sinéad Mooney, Brian Pennie, Kate McDaid, Gareth Mullins, Oonagh O’Hagan, Dr Sumi Dunne and Tara Rafter, so we hope you’ll join us to nourish your mind and body – find out more about that here.
If you’re taking it easy this bank holiday weekend, may I direct your ears to our monthly business podcast Work, Rest, Slay, where Melanie Morris is speaking to CEO and co-founder of RIXO, Henrietta Rix, on how she has grown her cult fashion label into a thriving international brand. May I also direct your eyes to the sunny Summer issue of IMAGE Magazine, hot off the press and cooling off on the shelves of your local newsagents, where we’re taking the longer days as an opportunity to slow down, take stock, and luxuriate in the lull that summer brings. From laid-back looks to in-depth reads, there’s everything you need to set you up for the season.
The IMAGE Business Club is kicking off strong in June with the next live event at The Westbury Hotel on Wednesday, June 5, where you’ll learn how to finesse your public speaking skills with Rowan Manahan AKA The Presenter Mentor and Diarmuid McSweeney, co-founder of athleisure brand Gym+Coffee.
On the home front, we have you covered for the month on IMAGE.ie. We have some thrilling new voices joining us this June plus a new project on the horizon that we’re working hard at in the background to bring to you. Last week we paid a visit to our friends at Barrettstown to plant some trees with the maintenance crew and hear about the incredible work Barrettstown does for children and families with serious illness, so we’ll be telling you about how you can get involved in their essential fundraising work. As always, we have some of fashion and culture’s most interesting names in the pipeline, plus a busy week of meeting up with our pals Nicola Coughlan and Caroline Hirons, so keep your eyes peeled for that. I’m really excited about some of the profiles we have coming up on site – Édaein O’ Connell met social media sensation Rachel Galvo in the office and I had to hide my face in my t-shirt to stifle my laughs while they were recording, plus we’ve tapped several of Ireland’s most stylish to share their summer fashion wishlist with us. In the meantime, if you’re looking for the month’s best Irish reads, what to watch, what to expect this month (astrologically speaking), what to wear to a festival over the summer or what to fill your calendar with, we have you covered.
Hopefully we’ll catch up with you somewhere along the way this month!
