Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have announced the arrival of their baby girl on Instagram
Model Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik have confirmed the birth of their first child, a baby girl, on Instagram this morning.
“Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love,” Gigi wrote on Instagram. “Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful,” said Zayn. “To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, and thankful for the life we will have together.”

Gigi Hadid’s pregnancy was rumoured from April and she announced it in May on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, without giving details of her due date. Last week, Gigi’s dad caused the Internet to nearly implode when he shared a poem he’d written for his grandchild on Instagram, which was quickly removed. Then Bella Hadid fanned flames further by posting another cryptic post.

Now that the baby watch has ended for the couple, the Internet has moved onto Phase 2 of a new celebrity baby — what will they call her?
So far in 2020, we’ve got baby X Æ A-12 Musk-Grimes, and baby Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, so I’m hoping Gigi and Zayn complete a trifecta of insane baby names that only the year 2020 could have brought us. Please, Gigi and Zayn, make your esoteric entrance into the ethereal universe of unhinged celebrity baby names. Well it’s hardly going to be Melissa Hadid-Malik, is it?
