From parade to pub: cosy but cool outfit ideas for St Patrick’s weekend

Cosy chic can be a tricky look to channel. If you’re going from parade to pub this St Patrick’s weekend, here are some outfit ideas that might inspire you. Remember, the best-dressed women always look appropriate for both the weather and the occasion, so ditch your heels and dresses and choose modern utilitarian pieces that will carry you effortlessly through the three-day weekend.

Slouchy trousers with a matching fitted jacket looks pulled together but comfortable too. A pair of Converse complete the look and fine gold jewellery adds a touch of panache. I love how this street style star has juxtaposed the relaxed nature of this outfit with a glamorous clutch bag. Although when I head out this weekend, I’ll be choosing a crossbody bag for ease of use.

What you don’t want this weekend is for your outfit to look generic. This woman looks anything but. Floral trousers add a point of difference, yet the overall look is still unfussy and casual. Keeping separates within the one colourway adds a cohesiveness, but I love how she has added a single pop of colour with a raspberry handbag.

Never underestimate the impact a pop of colour can have on an outfit. Pairing a green blazer with a regular pair of faded jeans gives them “personality”. With her white trainers and crossbody bag, this style-savvy woman looks like somebody who gets things done, but is super-stylish all the while.

I love this look. It’s so textured and cosy looking, but stylish too. Swapping denims for cords is a great idea, as they’re more tactile, and when worn as a wide leg, straddle the divide between utilitarian and smart wear. The white trainers add real freshness too.
