10 fancy outfit pieces to complete your #FormalFriday attire

by Erin Lindsay

Formal Fridays are all the rage in the quarantined world of fashion these days – and these pieces are giving some much-needed inspiration.

When we once used to look forward to Casual Fridays as a break from the monotony of formal dressing, now all we want is one excuse to dress up and feel office-ready. The new monotony is now coloured with grey joggers and the same white t-shirt as this day last week (and every day in between), and we would give a left arm to dress up in a blazer, pretty dress and heels (well, maybe not that far, but we’re getting there).

That’s why Formal Fridays have begun to pick up steam. To break from the norm of pyjama-esque dressing, social media is now challenging us to go all out of a Friday,  dressing up purely for ourselves (and the odd Zoom meeting) to finish off the week. Grabbing the most glamourous outfits from the depths of your wardrobe is a sure-fire way to cheer your sartorial senses up, and if you’re in need of some inspiration, the new-in sections of many of our favourite brands are providing plenty of it.
