This Genius New Hair Dye Technique Promises Highlights In Half The Time

Do you struggle to find the time to fit in a hair appointment? You’re not alone.

Are you one of the 1 in 5 women who dropped out of salon colour because you’re time poor? Are you one of the 40% of women who can financially afford to have your colour done but can’t find the time? Or perhaps you’re one of the women Googling “speedier colour techniques” and contributing to its 518% increase on Google searches in the last four years?

From this February exclusively in L’Oréal Professionnel salons nationwide, you can divide your salon time in half with Instant Highlights.

What are Instant Highlights?

A revolutionary new three-part system that will lift your hair up to six levels in half the time.

So how does it work?

A heating iron, lightening cream and aluminium foil work to evenly and instantly lighten the hair.

Ask The Experts: The Beauty Agency’s Bridal Beauty Tips

Will it damage my hair?

Surprisingly, no. Instant Highlights can be used with L’Oréal Professionnel’s Smartbond technology, which is a two-step process which allows your colourist to protect the hair and prevent damage and is recommended for anyone undergoing a colour or lightening service from extreme colour transformations to subtle colour changes and first-time colourers who are worried about damage. The heating iron used with Instant Highlights has a lower temperature of your typical straightener, at 140 °C, so this is about as damage-free as hair dyeing gets.

What kind of colour can I get?

It won’t replace your typical full-head of salon highlights, however, if you’re looking for an introduction to colour, a glossy balayage or a colour refresh, there’s a gorgeous menu range of options – Instant Contouring will add colour placement to accentuate your facial features, Instalights can brighten an overall look, Instareviv is what you’re looking for to refresh your ombré or grown out balayage or add vibrant pops of colour to your hair with Instapop.
