It’s been hard to make any kind of plan this last year, never mind a regular exercise plan. With all group sports and organised runs cancelled, it can be difficult to keep motivated. The only activity we can really plan is eating, couple that with chocolate and the Easter weekend is looking a little slovenly. Which is totally fine, if that’s what you fancy.
But if you would like to make a concrete plan (and an excuse to eat more chocolate) Unislim, Ireland’s only Irish owned holistic weight loss and health community, are asking Irish people at home and abroad to sign up for the first-ever virtual Hop’n Run 5k on Easter Monday, with funds going to Pieta House.
Conscious of our mental health as we spend yet another month indoors and apart from those we love, Unislim CEO Fiona Gratzer thinks there’s no better way to spend the bank holiday “than getting fresh air and raising funds for this fantastic, life-saving charity.”
The idea is that you sign up for the run (registration costs €20) and then track your run on Easter Monday, starting at 11am or whatever time best suits you. The first 500 to register will receive a free Pieta t-shirt and free Unislim facemask. You don’t have to run it either, if a brisk pace (or a snail’s) is more your style, that’s no problem – it’s all about getting out and raising funds for Pieta House and its free mental health services that run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
