Go on an adventure with Roche Bobois’ fantastical furniture collection with Marcel Wanders

While there’s plenty to love about an elegant, minimalist interior, there’s no denying that a piece packed full of personality will bring a smile to your face, and be an instant conversation starter whenever anyone comes into your home.

Roche Bobois has teamed up with designer Marcel Wanders to create a collection that is guaranteed to do both. The ‘Globe Trotter’ collection is inspired by the Montgolfier brothers, the creators of the hot air balloon, and the adventurous journeys this invention allowed.

“This collection is a tribute to the adventurer we all dreamt of being,” Marcel explains. “A journey is a transformative experience and we wanted each piece to capture the experience of bringing home worldly treasures from faraway places.”

The result is a whimsical and playful collection, from rugs and fabrics featuring both historical references and fabled adventures. The Up light and Montgolfiere Sofa also mimic the silhouette of the brothers’ iconic invention.

You can see this incredible collection in all its glory at Roche Bobois Dublin’s Sandyford showroom from September 27, where they will have the Montgolfiere sofas and ottoman, Wonder Buffet and cabinet, Dojo room divider, London Rug, Moucharabieh Rug, Operette chairs, and the La Parisienne Dining and occasional chairs, with more pieces to follow in October.
