Fusion Sundays is a world culture market hosted at the Dublin Food Co-op. Focusing on the ethnic diversity in Ireland, with stalls from around the world, selling a range of handmade goods, arts and crafts, recycled products, jewellery, clothes and food. Also expect interactive workshops, live music, dance and activities for children. The Market takes place every second Sunday of the month, from 11am to 5pm.
The 9th Festival of Russian Culture will run from the 11th to the 21st of February 2018 in various locations throughout the city of Dublin. The festival has become a traditional feature of vibrant Dublin cultural life. Concerts, literary talks and readings, children’s art competition, music master class, children’s activities, lively performances, lectures and talks are just some of the events taking place during the festival in venues across the city.
The festival will commence with Family Day on Sunday the 11th in the National Show Centre, Swords. Dancers, singers, spoon players, choirs along with the guest performers from Moscow will present an unforgettable show. Food and crafts markets, traditional pancakes, children’s entertainment and much more will give an opportunity to experience all things Russian. Click here for more info.
Spike is a 3-day festival of alternative cello, including alt-folk, jazz, trad, cabaret, cello yoga and cello clowning, based at the Workman’s Club. Today’s offering includes “Cello Voce”; a collaborative project which brings together five of Ireland’s cellist/singer/songwriters; Vyvienne Long, Mary Barnecutt, Kevin Murphy, Aleka Potinga, Anna – Mieke Bishop and the four cellists of Cello Ireland. This project brings these cellists together in a new setting, and presents new work as well as new settings of original material. Within Cello Voce there will be a cross-pollination of the various styles and influences, which each artist brings to the project. The resulting concert performance will be a wonderful evening, celebrating the cello, the voice, the Irish tradition and an amalgamation of styles and compositions. Click here to buy your tickets.
Established in 2008, the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival (DCNYF) year-on-year celebrates, promotes and deepens the understanding of the Sino/Irish relationship. DCNYF is a Dublin City Council initiative and works closely with the Chinese Community in Ireland to present a diverse and exciting festival.
