Meghan Markle wedding watch has officially started; let’s be honest it started from the moment we saw the ring. Her wedding dress will arguably be the biggest fashion commission of the year, so what will the actress and advocate wear? So far, the soon-to-be royal has been seen in a number of Canadian designers – she wore a cream wrap coat by the Toronto-based brand Line the Label for her official engagement photocall – and previously she’s favoured British designer Erdem for her walks on the red carpet as well as some US designers, but will she wear British on the big day?

We would be inclined to say yes, given she’s marrying into the monarchy but she is what many call a woman defying tradition when it comes to the Royals, so she may well do the same here. In terms of style, she favours classic, clean and elegant cuts, so we’ve weighed in on the contenders for Markle’s custom creation and put together a gallery of gowns that would look divine on the princess-to-be.
