“From suitcase to lounge chair in five minutes.” It might sound like a lofty ambition, but it’s exactly what Hans Hornemann and?Normann Copenhagen have achieved in their new range.?The Ace Collection,?launched at Milan’s Salone del Mobile, is an?urban dweller’s furniture dream – particularly useful for those who move a lot.

Hans Hornemann appears to have had his hands full with the collection – taking responsibility over the design process, manufacturing and logistics, all the way through to transport and storage. The Danish designer’s work has clearly paid off, producing a beautiful plywood chair and sofa, with springy upholstering, and a variety of seat widths in soft, muted colours.

Simply assemble and disassemble by screwing the seat and back together, with the legs slotting?into pre-made holes. Until now, much of flexible furniture options often meant falling short on quality or strong design, but Hornemann counters this, while giving amble capacity for flux.
