Jada Pinkett Smith has admitted to husband Will Smith that she had an affair with August Alsina on a new episode of her Facebook show Red Table Talk

Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed she had a relationship with singer-songwriter August Alsina during her marriage to Will Smith.

Pinkett Smith spoke to her husband about the affair on a new episode of her Facebook show Red Table Talk where she said the relationship took place during a period where the couple was separated.

“We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I will go figure out how to make myself happy,” she says.

“From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”

Will Smith then asked what she meant by an entanglement saying, “an entanglement? A relationship.” She replied: “I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken,”

The couple, who have been married since 1997, chose to do the show to clear speculations that arose following an interview August Alsina gave to a radio morning show called The Breakfast Club. Alsina said Will Smith had given the relationship his blessing. However, Pinkett Smith quashed this by saying, “The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself…I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a home-wrecker.”

“Which he’s not.”

When asked by her husband why she pursued the relationship, Pinkett Smith replied: “I just wanted to feel good…It had been so long since I had felt good.”

The couple admitted that they are now in a place of “unconditional love” with Mr Smith saying, “I’m gonna get you back first.”

Pinkett Smith laughed and counteracted: “I think you got me back! I think we’re good on that.”

The pair ended the interview by using a quote from the movie Bad Boys saying, “We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life.”
