It looks like Pippa is talking Kate into setting up an organic food company…

The latest headlines to swirl around the woman we all know as Kate Middleton (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was never going to stick, just face it Windsors) are a nice change from the This Shift Dress And Sensible Coat Sold Out In 14 Minutes proclamations we have grown used to seeing about the 33-year-old. Not that there is anything wrong with using your influence to help fashion businesses, especially small up-and-comers, make money. According to various outlets, Kate and her sister Pippa are exploring the possibility of setting up a food company. The Hemsley sisters have potential hair rivals.

Vanity Fair reports the sisters have spent the last few months making smoothies and baby food for Princess Charlotte, as well as cooking all of Prince George’s meals. All this kitchen-ing has given the two sisters, who are very close, the idea to start their own business. A source told the publication of Kate’s plans, ?She and Pippa are thinking about launching their own line of organic baby food as well as a range of nourishing ready meals for adults. At the moment it’s a bit of a pipe dream, but they are both really into organic produce.”

Considering Kate is a mother-of-two with a pretty demanding day job of Princess, it remains to be seen how involved she’ll be in the day-to-day running of the business. Her love of organic produce is well-known. She grows her own fruit and vegetables in the garden at her home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall – apparently the company will be called Amner Organics after the country pile. We sense that Pippa will be all hands on deck. Kate’s sister has spent the years since the Royal Wedding steadily building her profile as a contributor for Vanity Fair as well as releasing a book and working for her parents? successful party planning company. Pippa has also just completed a food-nutrition course and naturally wants to do something with the knowledge she has accumulated.

Royals running food companies isn’t revolutionary. Prince Charles heads up a range called Duchy out of his Cornwall estate. Duchy is available to buy in Waitrose and it raises millions for charity. Also, there is the fact Kate and Pippa come from entrepreneurial stock. Their parents built a multi-million company up from the ground. We’re sure Carole and Michael Middleton will have plenty of pointers for their daughters.
