by IMAGE Interiors & Living
10th Nov 2016

On Wednesday night, Image Interiors & Living hosted the second Dublin Design Night, which saw hundreds of design lovers take to the city’s streets for crafting, demos, talks and hot spiced booze.

From Powerscourt Town Centre through to South William Street and down to Temple Bar, streets and shops were abuzz with happy shoppers. Here’s some highlights….

At Cow’s Lane Designer Studio, master milliner John Shelvin talked guests through the process and tools of creating one of his pieces. Amazingly, John still uses the same shears he was given as a teen, while the rest of equipment dates from the 1800s.

At Appassionata Flowers, guests took part in workshops and created colourful posy wheels to bring home.

Across the road at Irish Design Shop, illustrator Fuchsia MacAree welcomed print fans in the upstairs workshop, while a 10% discount was applied to all purchases.

Next door at Industry, their Christmas window was unveiled as KT Swooner spun some tunes and browsers tucked into Moroccan-inspired hotspots, accompanied by ?Hop House 13.

In Powerscourt Centre, Mark Grehan and his team at The Garden?took workshoppers through the intricacies of creating a winter floral display, while at Article, Jennifer Slattery took us through her process and even invited us to have a go!

Designist was hopping all night as crowds made their colourful marks on illustrator Mark Flood’s window display.

While they also launched this beauty by Ned Kaar

Down in Temple Bar, screenprinting was a go at Scout with Jill & Gill?as hundreds of these gorgeous totes were printed. While across the street at Tamp & Stitch, we learned about medieval calligraphy among atmospheric candles.

Indigo & Cloth launched their new graphics venture Postal Goods with a DJ set from? The Bukeepsie Boys, while over at Jam Art Factory visitors were treated to a live John Rooney illustration.

Thanks to all the participating shops and to all our lovely readers who we got to meet along the route. Keep your eyes peeled for Dublin Design Night 2017….
