7 Lighting Options For An Instant Room Lift

by Melanie Mullan

As we adjust to darker evenings (and mornings!) at home, we naturally turn our attentions to lighting. As each room plays a different role in the home, each has different lighting considerations.?Depending on the space’s function, you will want to relax or motivate, stimulate or engage.

Rocky Wall of Wink says the biggest lighting crime he sees is “a’single light source in a living space, with no control and the wrong colour temperature being used.” Avoid this by dispersing light throughout open-plans spaces and rooms with a combination of cornered floor, table and wall lamps, which will create a warm atmosphere.

In contrast, narrow pendants in the kitchen help focus light on a specific working area, while chandeliers or broad pendants can help brighten up the whole room. With lots of decisions and an?equal amount of choice, we’ve selected our current favourite lighting pieces.
