Blood Brothers

9, 10 & 11 February, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin

Willy Russell’s legendary musical returns to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, starring Rebecca Storm as Mrs Johnstone. Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

OTHER WORLDS: Harry Clarke Watercolours

Until 19 March, Crawford Art Gallery, Cork

For a limited time only, Crawford Art Gallery are hosting their annual exhibition of Harry Clarke’s watercolours and ink drawings. The exhibition explores Harry Clarke’s extraordinary capacity for conjuring images from literature and bringing often romantic or macabre worlds into being. From his delicate blue-tinged watercolour studies for The Eve of St Agnes to the pen-and-ink illustrations for the tales of Edgar Allan Poe, Clarke translated his vivid imagination into remarkable works that have been in the collection for almost a century.

The Beauty Queen of Leenane

10&11 February, Mill Theatre Dundrum, Dublin

Balally Players present their 40th anniversary production Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane, which was first produced by Galway’s Druid Theatre way back in 1996. The play tells the story of spinster Maureen Folan, who’s trapped in a dysfunctional relationship with her scheming and manipulative mother Mags. Stuck together in a rundown cottage in the wilds of Connemara. Will Maureen’s last chance at love have a happy ending? Not if Mags can help it.

The Dublin Valentine’s Flea Market

11 February, The Grand Social, Liffey Street Lower, Dublin

Whether your love language is gift giving or quality time, or you and your other half bonded early on over your shared love of vintage clobber, heading along to a Valentine’s themed flea market might just be the perfect option. Bringing over 25 sellers together across four different rooms in The Grand Social, you can expect a huge amalgamation of everything from fashion and art to handmade crafts and creative services.

Doggy screening of Lady and the Tramp

12 February, Pálás Cinema, Galway

Fancy a weekend outing with your canine companion? Pálás cinema in Galway city are hosting a very special screening of the true Disney classic Lady and the Tramp this Sunday afternoon. There will be reduced noise levels, adjusted light levels and tasty treats galore.
