From dealing with car sickness to the constant coaxing to put on their seatbelts, travelling with little ones is never easy. Join us for an entertaining and informative evening on December 10 in partnership with Volvo Cars Ireland to discuss the importance of car safety and the dos and don’ts of travelling with children.

Car safety affects everyone, and for parents, no matter what age their children or what stage their family is at, it is so important to know just how necessary car and family safety knowledge is.

On Thursday, December 10, IMAGE Editor-in-Chief, Lizzie Gore-Grimes is joined by actor and Volvo Cars ambassador Amy Huberman, Dr. Malie Coyne, author and clinical psychologist and Dr. Lotta Jakobsson, Senior Technical Specialist of Injury Prevention at Volvo Cars, to chat all things car and family safety when travelling.

What to Expect

The concept of modern car safety has come a long way. During the event, the panel will cover areas from car seats to adult safety belts, long journeys to car sickness and everything in between. Learn some top tips for travelling with kids from child psychologist, Dr Malie Coyne and find out the importance of car safety for preventing injuries from Volvo Car’s senior technical specialist, Dr Lotta Jakobsson.

From tales of backseat bickering to frustrations unleashed at finicky child seats, enjoy some personal anecdotes from Amy Huberman and Lizzie Gore-Grimes as they think back on their memories of childhood car journeys and fill us in on how they cope when travelling as a family.

There will also be informative advice for everyday trips, such as how to securely fit a child with an adult seatbelt, ideas to keep little ones busy on long journeys and how best to prevent car sickness.

How to register

Registration for IMAGE X Volvo: Family Safety Made Simple is complimentary and you can register here. Starting at 8pm on Thursday, December 10, and, with plenty to entertain as well as inform, this will be a must-watch for any parent needing some advice on family safety when travelling.
