As Ireland’s only soul music festival, Soul Fest is making quite the splash with their jam-packed programme of soul, funk, food, drinks and entertainment taking place throughout the city of Cork. With headline concerts in city hall and around 20 venues taking part across the city, there’ll also be a live soul train grooving its way through the streets, a much-anticipated block party, and plenty of pop up performances across the course of the weekend. Taking place every Friday and Saturday up until September 10, the Summer of DJs curated by Black & Irish at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery is a weekend must. R3D, Azeez (Blkcnvs), DJ Safarii, Alice (A-MON€Y) and plenty of other incredible acts will be pumping out the tunes, and you’ll even be able to sample some exclusive brews in the vibrant surroundings of their colourful beer garden.

A new, once-off foodie themed three-day event, Savour the Flavour takes place on what would have been A Taste of Donegal Food Festival weekend. Named Ireland’s foodiest town in 2019, this event celebrates the achievement while showcasing the best of what Donegal has to offer. Pincers at the ready! After a three-year hiatus, the Dalkey Lobster Festival returns to the south Dublin coastal town for a weekend focussed on all things seafood. A host of familiar faces will appear on the Main Stage at the Lobster Village to demo their favourite seafood recipes, share their expertise and have some fun. The perfect fusion of the best local food, top musical acts, and great entertainment, this foodie festival is one of the major highlights of the seafood calendar.
27 August, The Loft at Seven Bar, Galway
Bringing a night of hip hop, alternative emo garage, and alternative indie to The Loft venue in Galway, A Modern Movement welcomes homegrown act JOSSLE to the stage alongside Idle Idol, Arm Candy and Callum Wall. JOSSLE is the indie passion project of singer-songwriter and producer Joshua O’Leary, who has written and recorded music from his bedroom in his hometown of Kinsale.
