Drew Barrymore is launching her own magazine and it’s filled with noughties nostalgia

Some trends never go out of style.

Remember when magazines were the primary source of our preteen inspiration? We’d spend hours tearing out our favourite pages and plastering them to our bedroom walls, or cutting out edgy outfits and adding them to dream books and journals.

Yes, these mags were mostly filled with shameless gossip and ‘caught in the act’ paparazzi shots, but they also represented a glamorous lifestyle we hoped to achieve.

Denim-clad Jen and Brad, frosted-tipped boy bands, lipgloss roundups and those covetous fold out posters signed by JoJo or Britney – these magazines were a milestone marker of our adolescence.

And now, Drew Barrymore is bringing them back to the modern world.

DREW

The actress and talk show host has just announced that she is launching DREW magazine, a lifestyle publication that will cover all things beauty, news, food, travel and fashion.

She is especially excited about her nod to the naughties, adding a crossword puzzle and an indulgently honest ‘Ask Drew’ section.

“We are launching a MAGAZINE!!!” she gushed on Instagram. “I’ve dreamed of this day since I was a little girl, lining my walls with tears from my favorite magazines to make wallpaper.

“Our pilot issue of DREW, a special interest publication and collaboration with our partners at Bauer Media Group will hit newsstands in June!!

“I can’t wait for you to see and enjoy what we have created for you. From beauty and food to human interest and travel (and a crossword puzzle yay!!!), every glossy page will include the people, places and things I love most … truly the best from me to you.”

DREW will be a quarterly feel-good magazine devoted to beauty, love and fun, chock-full of tips, tricks, and how-to’s from people in the know.

We can’t wait to see what Drew rolls out and travel back to a time where our biggest worry was how we were going to sweep JT off his feet.
