A dud of a Golden Globes happened last night, but it had some winners worth knowing about

Read on for the full list of Golden Globe winners for 2022, including plenty of films and TV already available on streaming sites...

So the Golden Globes happened and. as we predicted, nobody really cared. With stars promising to boycott it and NBC refusing to broadcast the 2022 ceremony after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was accused of racism, sexism, bullying, and corruption, it always looked to be a bit of a dud. Winners were announced on Twitter with no stars in attendance, no speeches and, proving that there’s still distaste from the Golden Globes aside from the rise of Covid cases, minimal retweets from the winners.

However, just because there was so red carpet with the bizarre ENews! slo-mo spinny camera and awkward star interviews, doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few things to know from the ceremony – namely the winners.

Because we’re all looking for some good TV and movies to watch, right? Even if you don’t want to brave it at the cinema with Omicron circulating like, well, a bad winter cold, the streaming sites dominated the nominees and the winners this year, meaning you can watch it all from the comfort of your own home.

There were a few notable winners too. From an Irish perspective, Catriona Balfe and Jamie Dornan-led Belfast took the crown for best screenplay. Written by Kenneth Branagh about his childhood growing in 1960s Belfast, it’s also hotly tipped for a nod in the Oscars Best Picture race.

31-year-old Pose actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez also became the first transgender actress to win a Globe, winning best actress in a TV Drama for her performance as a house mother in the Ryan Murphy-helmed show about New York City’s African-American and Latino gender-nonconforming drag ball.

So without further ado, set your Netflix watchlist to these winners…
