Make sure everyone has a drink they’ll love at your summer gatherings with this alcohol-free recipe, made with zesty lemon and Irish honey.

Summer brings a refreshing change to our social calendars, with outdoor gatherings, barbecues and garden parties becoming the go-to occasions. Whether your guests are taking a break from alcohol, driving home or simply prefer non-alcoholic beverages, it is essential to ensure that those not drinking alcohol have a cocktail experience that is just as enjoyable and exciting.

So, to help you elevate your entertaining game this season, we turned to world-class Irish mixologist and Diageo Head of Advocacy, Cal Byrne, for his expert recommendations, and this recipe is perfect to have up your sleeve.

“The rise of Low and No cocktails is undeniable,” Cal says. “People are drinking smarter, not more. This means more than just selecting the best spirits for your libations, it also means enjoying the budding world of N/A drinks.”

They don’t have to be complicated, either, as this recipe proves. “The Bees Knees cocktail takes the delicious depth of Irish honey, the zip of fresh lemon juice and the beautiful citrus and herbaceous tones of Tanqueray 0.0 Gin to create a delicious concoction,” Cal says.

“My biggest supporter in my career, my dad, has been a non-drinker for more than 15 years. Drinks like this allow us to have a tipple together and share in my industry and craft in a way that everyone is welcome and comfortable.”

As always, the ever-stylish Cal has put together an outfit to pair with this recipe. “Tanqueray 0.0 doesn’t need a special occasion, so I wanted to wear an outfit from my everyday.

“A big cosy knit from All Saints takes the lead with this look alongside my go-to Zara cargo pants, both stylish and practical! I’m also wearing a pair of custom Air Max 95s for ultra comfort. This is my meeting friends for a coffee, visiting family and a cold day in the office outfit.”
